Chargeback management in components
Rainforest is releasing chargeback management through our Reporting Components and API. Merchants will be able to respond to chargebacks and have better visibility into the current status of the chargeback.
What's changing
Chargeback statuses
The chargeback status Pending is replaced with more detailed statuses of:
- Inquiry Action Required
- Inquiry Processing
- Dispute Action Required
- Chargeback Processing
- Provisional Win

What's new
Chargeback report component
A new Chargeback Report Component can be integrated into your platform for your merchants to see all of their chargebacks and their details. The report supports quick filtering with a new Tab feature. The Action Required tab will show the merchant all the chargebacks they need to respond to. Respond to chargebacks in the chargeback details component
The Chargeback Report Component integrates with the Chargeback Details Component. In the details component, a chargeback in the statuses Inquiry Action Required and Dispute Action Required can be actioned. The merchant can provide the evidence to dispute the chargeback.
Chargeback report in Portal
Head to the new Chargeback tab in the Rainforest Sandbox Portal to see all your merchant's chargebacks.
How to use it
API version 2024-10-16
In order to integrate with the new chargeback management flows, you'll need to upgrade your integration to the latest Rainforest API version 2024-10-16. See our API version upgrades guide on how to upgrade.
