Collect billing contact from digital wallets

Rainforest can now collect the end user's billing contact directly from a digital wallet, such as Apple Pay, PayPal, Venmo, and PayPal Pay Later, when processing on the Payment Component.

Collect when processing payments

When creating the payin config, two new fields can be set to collect billing contact details from the end user in the wallet flow.

request_wallet_address - retrieves the name and address from the digital wallet
request_wallet_contact - retrieves the email from the digital wallet

When processing with the Payment Component, the billing contact details collected from the wallet will be returned on the payin and stored on the payment method for future payment methods.

Name and address

If the request_wallet_address is set to true, then the digital wallet flow will collect the name and address from the end user. The address details collected from the wallet will override the name and address provided by the platform in the payin config.

This is supported for Apple Pay, Google Pay, PayPal, Venmo, and PayPal Pay Later.

Email and phone

If the request_wallet_contact is set to true, then the digit wallet flow will collect the email and phone number from the end user. The contact details collected from the wallet will override the email and phone number provided by the platform in the payin config.

This is supported for Apple Pay, Google Pay, PayPal, Venmo, and PayPal Pay Later.

Collect when storing payment methods

If your integration is only storing a payment method, then the same request_wallet_address and request_wallet_contact fields can be set when creating the payment method config.

The billing contact details collected from the wallet will be returned on the payment method.

For future payins from stored payment methods, if billing contact is passed into the payin config, then the payin config values will take precedence over the billing contact currently stored on the payment method and will merge with the existing billing contact on the payment method.

Billing contact on configs

The billing contact on the payin config and payment method config will not be updated and represents what the platform initiated.
