Fleet and purcharsing cards classified as business cards effective November 5th
Effective November 5th, Rainforest will classify fleet and purcharsing cards as business cards.
What’s changing
Today Rainforest classifies a card as a business card when it is issued as a business or corporate card. Fleet and purchasing cards are currently classified as non-business. That includes Visa Purchasing, Visa Fleet, Mastercard Purchasing, Mastercard Fleet, and government purchasing cards.
This update will begin classifying fleet and purchasing cards as business cards. This only impacts payment methods created after November 5th and does not update existing payment methods.
How this may affect you
- Business surchage: If your billing profiles include a business card surcharge, the surcharge will start applying to payments made with fleet and purchasing cards. Merchants may see different fees on these payments.
- BIN lookup: If you use BIN lookup to check whether a card is a business card, fleet and purchasing cards will start returning as business.
Review your billing profiles and any merchant facing pricing that refers to business card fees. Let affected merchants know before November 5th, if needed. You don’t need to change your integration.
